WASHINGTON — The Yankees spent just one day in a 10-day span outside The Bronx.

And while the brief trip to the nation’s capital may have seemed a nuisance to many in the organization, it probably didn’t to Giancarlo Stanton.

After being booed again at Yankee Stadium in Sunday’s loss, the slugger came through with a run-scoring double in the seventh inning of the Yankees 4-2 win over the Nationals in the makeup game of a May 16 rainout at Nationals Park.

It was one of Stanton’s four hits in the game and helped the Yankees hold off Washington after the Nationals won the completion of the teams’ suspended game from May 15, as Chad Green gave up a go-ahead, two-run homer to rookie Juan Soto in the sixth inning of a 5-3 loss.

Stanton’s biggest hit came against lefty Sammy Solis, as the oufielder/DH continues to crush southpaws.

Stanton insisted he didn’t do anything differently than he has for most of the season.

“I’ve been seeing the ball better, regardless of results,’’ said Stanton, who also had an RBI single through the left side of the infield off right-hander Erick Fedde in the first.

“It’s good to have games like this where it’s put together out on the field,” Stanton said.

Asked if he made any changes to his closed stance, Stanton said that wasn’t the case.

“No, I didn’t make adjustments,” Stanton said.

And he acknowledged the disparity in his success when facing lefties.

“The numbers are much different, but I try to have the same amount of confidence with anyone on the mound, even though you know what [the numbers] are,” Stanton said.

Washington manager Dave Martinez kept Solis in the game even though right-hander Shawn Kelley was warming.

“That was interesting,” said Stanton, who came in 22-for-66 with eight homers versus lefties this season. “It happens.”

Aaron Boone will take it.

“You always like a matchup of a lefty facing [Stanton],” the manager said. “You understand those things on a day like today are possible. You try to build in the potential he faces lefties in those spots.”
