Rotator cuff tendinitis has landed a second Yankee pitcher on the disabled list. Right-hander Dan Giese was diagnosed with the problem today after being examined by Dr. Chris Ahmad at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and placed on the 15-day DL.

Giese, who was Tuesday’s scheduled starter in Toronto, left Wednesday’s game with stiffness in the upper right arm.

Since Darrell Rasner, who started Wednesday and was going to be skipped in the rotation because of today and Monday being dark, is a strong candidate to face the Blue Jays Tuesday in Toronto.

Right-handed reliever Chris Britton, a regular on the SWB-Bronx shuttle, could make another trip.
