Yankees manager Joe Girardi reacted positively yesterday to news that instant replay might be implemented on an experimental basis for the Arizona Fall League.
On Wednesday, Alex Rodriguez was deprived a home run on a blown call by umpires – Rodriguez’s blast hit the yellow stairs in front of the bleachers and bounded back into play. Rodriguez ended up with a double.
“I’ve said that [replay] should be for the home run and the home run only,” Girardi said. “I actually think it would be a quicker decision and speed up the game, and the call would be right, always.”
