TAMPA — Curtis Granderson said he hasn’t heard from the Yankees about an extension but he would be interested if they are.
“I’d be a fool not to,” Granderson said at the team’s minor league complex Monday.
Granderson is in the final year of his contract and is coming off a season in which his production remained high but his strikeouts increased.
He doesn’t expect to change his approach much but did get some advice from Ichiro Suzuki and began his swinging regimen two weeks earlier than usual this offseason.
Granderson added he’d be open to moving to left field if the Yankees want to switch Brett Gardner to center.
