PORT ST. LUCIE — The Mets play their final Grapefruit League game today before 15 of their players depart for the World Baseball Classic, with John Maine getting the two-inning start here against the Astros in his spring debut. Here is the Mets’ order for the 1:10 p.m. game, which is being telecast by PIX-11:
Luis Castillo 2B
John Maine RHP
Jose Reyes SS
Carlos Delgado 1B
David Wright 3B
Carlos Beltran CF
Ryan Church RF
Daniel Murphy LF
Brian Schneider C
Also scheduled to pitch are LHP Pedro Feliciano, LHP Tom Martin, RHP Duaner Sanchez, RHP J.J. Putz, RHP Sean Green, RHP Connor Robertson, RHP Kyle Snyder, RHP Darren O’Day, RHP Nelson Figueroa and RHP Carlos Muniz.
4:20 P.M. UPDATE: Schneider’s third-inning grand slam and a three-run shot by Delgado in the same inning keyed a 13-1 Mets runaway on a chilly and extremely windy afternoon at Tradition Field. Maine allowed one run in two innings (a Miguel Tejada homer) in his spring debut, while J.J. Putz worked one scoreless inning — his first as Met — before departing to play in the World Baseball Classic. Backup catcher Ramon Castro added a three-run homer in the eighth.
