There’s no telling when Greg Bird might be back.
The first baseman has been out with a torn plantar fascia in his left foot since April 13. He was in a walking boot for two weeks before getting out of it Monday, but he still isn’t close to returning.
“At this point, timetables are pointless,’’ the oft-injured Bird said when asked when he might be ready to rejoin the Yankees.
He said he felt a pop running to first during the game, but had been dealing with discomfort in the foot before. In nine games since his home run on Opening Day, Bird is just 5-for-31 with no extra-base hits, six walks and 13 strikeouts.
Dellin Betances has been out all season with a right shoulder impingement, but manager Aaron Boone said the right-hander could start throwing again “in the next couple of days.”
Clint Frazier (ankle) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Trenton Saturday night. He is expected to be back with the Yankees on Monday.
DJ LeMahieu returned to the lineup after missing three games with inflammation in his right knee after fouling a ball off his knee last Sunday in San Francisco. He hit leadoff and played second base and reported no issues after going 2-for-4 in the Yankees’ 7-3 loss to the Twins.
Luke Voit had his 42-game on-base streak snapped on Saturday. He had reached base in every game he’d started since Sept. 19— including all 31 this season until going hitless in four at-bats against the Twins.
Jake Barrett was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take James Paxton’s spot on the roster after Paxton was placed on the 10-day injured list with left knee inflammation.
The 27-year-old Barrettt, claimed from the Pirates last month, entered in the eighth inning of Saturday’s game. He got the final two outs of the eighth inning before Nelson Cruz homered off him to lead off the ninth.
The Yankees moved the start time to Sunday’s game to 4:05 p.m. because of a forecast for inclement weather in the morning and early afternoon. It had been scheduled for a 1:05 start.
