DETROIT — The Mets placed outfielder Willie Harris on the bereavement list Thursday, after his wife, Trey, lost her pregnancy.
Harris left the team during Wednesday’s game after his wife went into premature labor in New York.
Harris will be away from the team for 3-7 days. The Mets called up outfielder Fernando Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo before Thursday’s game against the Tigers to take Harris’ roster spot.
Harris is batting .242 with a home run and 10 RBIs this season.
