It took one game for Adam Jones to break a new Orioles rule.

The star outfielder plastered Matt Wieters with a pie following the catcher’s walkoff hit in the Orioles’ 3-2 win Opening Day win over the Twins on Monday. But the Orioles had banned the celebratory ritual in the offseason for safety purposes.

“You want to talk about the game or pies?” Jones told The Baltimore Sun. “I’ll probably get a letter. I’ll plead the Fifth.”

Orioles manager Buck Showalter did not seem to be taking Jones’ defiance too seriously, even though some teammates are not too fond of it.

“I’ve lost control of the team again,” Showalter joked to the paper. “Pick the battles worth winning, right? It had some kind of orange look to it. It looked very cakey to me.”
