Watching Carl Pavano work two innings Sunday against the Phillies the mind was allowed to wonder about what the Yankees could get in return for the oft-injured right-hander if he stays healthy all spring.

Twenty-four hours later the thoughts changed to the Yankees may have to hold onto Pavano.

Kei Igawa’s first outing as Yankee outside of an intrasquad game stalled the Trade Carl Pavano Talk. In one-plus innings the Japanese lefty allowed two runs, two hits and three walks to the Tigers and immediately raised questions about his ability to pitch in the big leagues.

Those who pointed out that with Igawa the Yankees could trade Pavano. Now, based on one outing, Igawa is a question mark.
