As the Orioles prepare to limp out of the Bronx, they can take solace in that they may not be baseball’s most embarrassing team.

The Tigers shared a helpful reminder of their incompetence during an 11-6 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. Kyle Seager already had two home runs against Detroit when he hit a ball to the warning track in left — and that’s where Detroit’s outfield took over.

Center fielder Niko Goodrum and left fielder Brandon Dixon collided on the warning track. The ball hit Goodrum’s glove and bounced over the fence. The sparse crowd booed with the little spirit that remains in them.

“I was running, so I didn’t see it,” Seager said. “Everyone told me they knocked it over, but I’m going to have to find a replay online. When I tell the story, it’s going to be a no-doubter.”

The Orioles and Tigers are tied for an MLB-worst 81 losses, but Baltimore has 39 wins compared to Detroit’s 35.
