ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Giancarlo Stanton’s sprained right knee is improving, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone.

“A lot better … he is making progress as far as range of motion and stuff,’’ Boone said before the Yankees’ 8-4, 10-inning win over the Rays on Thursday night. “The first few days, he was pretty sore and there was some swelling in there. He has had some improvements the last couple of days.’’

As for Luis Severino and Dellin Betances, Boone said he believes the former staff ace and the impact reliever will return at some point this season, but wasn’t ready to deliver an exact date.

“I expect both back,’’ Boone said. “I stopped giving a time. I want them to be right.’’

Boone said Betances’s right lat problem is “90 percent’’ healed as shown by a recent MRI exam.

“[Betances] is still a week to 10 days from throwing,’’ Boone said.

As for Severino, Boone said, “This time next week [he’ll] start playing catch again.’’
