The Mets’ fairytale season will continue on.

After an all-time great game against the Braves on Monday to punch their ticket to the playoffs, the Amazins pulled out another all-timer on Thursday to advance to the NLDS in a win-or-go-home situation.

It happened thanks to Pete Alonso, whose clutch three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning put the Mets ahead, eventually leading to a dramatic 4-2 win over the Brewers and another champagne celebration.

So, now it’s on to the NLDS, where the Mets will face the Phillies (for the first time ever in the postseason). The divisional rivals played 13 games against each other in the regular season; the Mets had a record of 6-7 in those 13 games, but the big wins happened when it really counted — right as the playoff race heated up in mid-September, the Mets won four big games over the Phillies out of seven total to keep them in the conversation.
