LOS ANGELES — Mets radio voice Howie Rose will miss the team’s six-game road trip after he became ill on the team’s charter flight, according to a statement released by WOR radio.
The flight to Los Angeles was diverted to Detroit so Rose could receive medical attention. According to a person who was on the plane, the situation was not life-threatening.
“I’m doing better today, certainly better than yesterday,” Rose said Friday.
“Although [Rose] is feeling better, due to the lengthy travel, doctors have advised Howie to rejoin the team upon their return to New York next week,” the WOR statement said.
