After a successful rehab start last Thursday with SWB, Phil Hughes is expected to continue his rehab with the Yankees’ Triple-A club again tomorrow, when he will take to the mound against Devern Hansack and the Pawtucket Red Sox. After being replaced on the Yankees’ roster by Billy Traber following Friday’s blowup against the Angels, Ian Kennedy will pitch against Pawtucket Wednesday.
Not only do the games matter because of the high-profile prospects on the mound, but they also matter in the standings. Pawtucket currently sits 1.5 games behind SWB for first place in the International League’s North Division.
