I can’t imagine any Yankee fan thinks the $46 million dollars spent on Kei Igawa was money well spent. But despite his struggles in the Bronx, Igawa is now setting records with the Yankees Triple-A affiliate, Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Igawa, a left-hander who turned 30 July 13, set an SWB franchise record with his 27th win with the club Tuesday night, when he threw seven shutout innings against Columbus. He allowed four hits, striking out four and walking one.
For the season, Igawa is 8-3 with a 3.45 ERA with SWB. He has struck out 79 and walked 25 in 104.1 innings, after going 14-5 with a 3.45 ERA for SWB last season.
