The latest from 6-year-olds: Dinosaurs are awesome, the blue crayon is best and also the Indians are trying to lock up shortstop Francisco Lindor for seven more seasons.

Brody Chernoff, the son of Indians GM Mike, joined the Cleveland radio broadcast on Saturday in a cute way to liven up the monotony of spring training. After a few shy minutes, Brody seemed to open up, telling broadcaster Tom Hamilton (and the world listening) that Dad “had to stay up til 2 in the morning with phone calls” to make the offseason splash of Edwin Encarnacion.

Hamilton teasingly pressed the 6-year-old. Any late-night phone calls lately?

“He’s trying to get Lindor to play for seven more years,” Brody answered innocently, as a stunned Hamilton couldn’t contain his laughter — or nerves, realizing, if Brody’s sources are correct, this is news the Indians likely do not want public.

Radio is in Brody’s blood — he’s the grandson of Mark Chernoff, the vice president of programming for New York CBS Radio. So he could have a news-breaking future.

“I think Lindor’s actually in the 20s or so,” Brody said about the 23-year-old star shortstop who can’t be a free agent until after the 2021 season.

The leaks begin about the 3:20 mark below:
