After major league clubs and potential Triple-A affiliates were allowed to open discussions yesterday, the Buffalo Bisons have scheduled a press conference for Monday morning with the Mets, as my old friend and colleague Mike Harrington reports in this morning’s Buffalo News. The other affiliate that was in the mix, Syracuse, has entered discussions with the Nationals, as reported in today’s Syracuse Post-Standard.

Now there’s a reason for me to head home to Buffalo a few times next season. You’ll get no arguments from me about that. And you can mark it down now: Bushes will make its first Buffalo appearance the second week in April next year, when the Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees.
