The No. 2 prospect in the Yankee system (based on the August Beating the Bushes rankings), OF Austin Jackson, has hit the disabled list. However, the move was designed more to give the young centerfielder a breather before the palyoffs start, rather than for any serious injury.

Jackson, who was placed on the DL with back spasms, has had a great season with Double-A Trenton. Jackson, one of the biggest reasons Trenton has clinched the Double-A Eastern League North Division, is hitting .287 with nine homers, 67 RBI and 19 stolen bases.

The first game of the Thunder’s playoff series will take place September 3 at Trenton’s Waterfront Park, and Beating the Bushes will be at the game live. That will be the first of hopefully several live playoff games that we will be bringing to you over the next few weeks.
