Derek Jeter left today’s game with the Indians in the seventh inning with tightness in his left hamstring.
Indians pitcher Mitch Talbot hit Jeter with a pitch in the second inning. It appeared to hit him just above the left knee. Jeter stayed in the game, but was removed for pinch runner Ramiro Pena after getting a base hit.
“We won’t know until tomorrow,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said of how bad the injury is. “He got hit in the back of the hamstring. It stiffened up.”
Jeter went 2-for-3 in the game before leaving.
