Derek Jeter’s ankle will keep him from playing shortstop for the second straight night, but he remains atop the Yankees lineup as they open a series against the Rays.

Jeter left Wednesday’s game against the Red Sox after aggravating a bone bruise on his ankle. He went 1-for-5 with an RBI single in Thursday night’s 2-0 win over the Red Sox.

Eduardo Nunez will fill in for the second straight night at shortstop and will bat ninth.
