Derek Jeter was a late scratch for today’s Subway Series game with a bruised right heel.

Jeter was in the original lineup posted this morning, but was removed around 11:30 and replaced at shortstop by Ramiro Pena.

Jeter injured the heel Friday night stepping on first base against the Mets.

Pena originally was supposed to play third base with Alex Rodriguez serving as the designated hitter. When Pena was moved to shortstop, Kevin Russo was put in at third base.
