LINCOLN, Neb. — The mother of Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain was sentenced to four years of probation for a felony drug charge.
Lancaster County District Judge Jodi Nelson said yesterday that probation was appropriate for Jackie Standley because of her relatively clean record and efforts to address her substance abuse problem and mental health issues.
The 45-year-old Standley was arrested last May after selling a gram of methamphetamine to an undercover officer at her Lincoln residence. She pleaded no contest last fall to delivering a controlled substance.
