Agent Scott Boras has been kicked to the curb by client Jordan Montgomery after it took until right before the start of the season for the pitcher to sign with a team.

Montgomery has hired Wasserman’s Joel Wolfe & Nick Chanock as his agents, ESPNs Kiley McDaniel reported.

Montgomery, 31, was one of four free agents who remained unsigned late into the offseason before agreeing to a one-year, $25-million contract with the Diamondbacks that fell far below what many expected he would receive.

The yet-to-debut Arizona hurler is coming off a World Series win and impressive postseason run with the Rangers, where he was expecting to cash in $100 million-plus over a longer-term contract.

Fangraphs projected Montgomery to get a five-year $105 million deal before he settled on the one-year contract.

The unsuccessful free-agent showing on Montgomery, as well as clients J.D. Martinez, Blake Snell and Matt Chapman, has had many questioning whether the super-agent still has the type of cachet with owners to continue demanding and getting massive sums of money for his clients.

Snell, the reigning NL Cy Young winner, settled for a two-year contract worth $62 million with the Giants while hoping to grab a similar AAV over a longer contract.

Meanwhile, Martinez signed a one-year deal with the Mets after a strong season with the Dodgers in 2023.

Thanks to the late signings, Montgomery and Martinez didn’t make it to spring training and have yet to make their season debuts.

Now the focus will go to many other Boras clients, including soon-to-be free agents Pete Alonso and Juan Soto.

Confidence has seemingly waned on Boras, who has been in the business for three decades, once negotiating a five-year $57 million deal for Greg Maddux in 1998 which at the time was the largest in professional sports history.

Boras has negotiated over a billion dollars in contracts during his MLB history.

The brash agent has never been afraid to speak his mind and has, on different occasions, rubbed some around baseball the wrong way.
