The hurts keep on coming.
When Hiroki Kuroda foolishly put his pitching hand up in the air to stop Shane Victorino’s liner in the second inning the ball clipped the middle finger on the right hand and went for a single.
Kuroda remained in the game but after hitting two batters and issuing a walk in between, Joe Girardi lifted his No. 2 starter.
It was announced in the third inning that Kuroda suffered a contusion to the finger and was schedule for X-rays.
The Yankees can hardly afford to lose a starting pitcher. Already they are without Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira. Phil Hughes, who makes a Triple-A start Saturday is also on the DL.
