The Yankees have a new pitching coach — and their old one has a new job.

A day after sources said the Yankees hired Matt Blake to run their staff, Larry Rothschild landed in San Diego, a source confirmed Friday.

Rothschild had been the Yankees’ pitching coach since 2011, but was not brought back with a year remaining on his contract. While there were indications Rothschild might join ex-Yankee manager Joe Girardi with the Phillies, Rothschild ended up not interviewing for the position.

He’ll now go to the Padres, where he’ll replace Darren Balsley.

The Padres just hired manager Jayce Tingler after Andy Green was fired.

Before coming to The Bronx, Rothschild also served as pitching coach with the Cubs and was the first manager for the expansion Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
