General manager Brian Cashman likely is shopping for some bullpen help and the market could get interesting. The Post has learned that the Dodgers placed lefty reliever George Sherrill on outright waivers, and the waiver period ends tomorrow making him a free agent.
It is unknown what the Yankees’ level of interest would be in Sherrill. The 33-year-old has been awful this season for Joe Torre, going 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA, but just two years ago he was solid as the Orioles’ closer, registering 31 saves.
