The orders are set as the Mets ride ace Johan Santana (pictured) in their afternoon bid at Shea Stadium today to win the series with the Diamondbacks. The Mets wonât have left fielder Moises Alou, who is waiting to speak with the doctor but sounded ready for another DL stint with that aggravated calf strain. “I don’t feel very good,” Alou said. He said he would love to DH in Anaheim next week, but at the same time doesn’t want the team to be a player short on the chance he could be available for that.
Meanwhile, Willie Randolph is giving second baseman Luis Castillo the day off and using Ramon Castro at catcher for the first time since Castroâs start was scratched last Sunday in San Diego when he showed up late to the park with that notorious âpocket scheduleâ excuse.
