The skies over Turner Field here in Atlanta are black, so Game 2 of the Mets’ day-night doubleheader with the Braves has been delayed. We’ll go ahead and give you the lineups, though. The 22-20 Mets are still smarting from a 6-1 loss to Tom Glavine and the Braves in Game 1, a listless defeat that saw Atlanta pitchers retire 22 hitters in a row after Willie Randolph’s club struck for a run in the first inning. So much for momentum after that two-game sweep of the Yankees over the weekend …

Randolph is resting the usual suspects in Game 2 behind fill-in starter Claudio Vargas. Left fielder Moises Alou, second baseman Luis Castillo and catcher Brian Schneider are all sitting this one out. And how embarrassing is this for Carlos Delgado – he’s hitting behind Damion Easley (.222). Ouch.

Here is what the Mets are going with:

Jose Reyes SS

Marlon Anderson LF

David Wright 3B

Carlos Beltran CF

Ryan Church RF

Damion Easley 2B

Carlos Delgado 1B

Ramon Castro C

Claudio Vargas RHP (0-1, 2.84)

The 23-21 Braves will look like this behind reliever Jorge Campillo, who is getting the start due to Atlanta’s torrent of pitching injuries:

Yunel Escobar SS

Omar Infante CF

Chipper Jones 3B

Mark Teixeira 1B

Kelly Johnson 2B

Matt Diaz LF

Gregor Blanco RF

Corky Miller 2B

Jorge Campillo RHP (0-0, 1.27)
