It might be too late to save Willie Randolph’s job, but the Mets will try to snap their season-high five game losing streak here in Denver today when Claudio Vargas (pictured) takes on the Rockies at Coors Field. Injuries have decimated the Mets’ outfield to the point that minor-league call up Nick Evans is starting in left just hours after being promoted from Double-A Binghamton. Right fielder Ryan Church (concussion) also is unavailable again, so Randolph is going with Fernando Tatis at that spot.
