Say goodbye to Major League Baseball’s disabled list.
The league will rename the disabled list the “injured list,” according to an ESPN report, for fear the term “disabled” could offend.
The rules of the “injured list” will remain the same as before, and the new moniker actually brings MLB more in line with other major North American sports leagues.
The NBA has an inactive list, the NHL has the injured reserve list, and the NFL features both the injured reserve list and the physically unable to perform list.
The first official disabled list was introduced by the National League in 1915, so after 104 years, perhaps it was finally time to get with the times.
