The Dodgers appear to have won the Manny Machado sweepstakes. Though exactly how iron-clad their victory is seems unclear.

If nothing else, it seems to be at the finish line. ESPN reports the Orioles have a deal is in place, though specific aspects are still being worked on, while USA Today says a deal with Los Angeles is essentially done.

MLB Network reported the Dodgers’ fourth-best prospect, outfielder Yusniel Diaz, is in the Dodgers’ offer.

Tuesday’s All-Star Game is likely Machado’s last appearance in a Baltimore uniform. The holdup for a deal may be that MLB prefers the attention focused on the All-Star Game.

The Brewers and Phillies both seemed to be in the running this morning, but evidently didn’t offer as much as the Dodgers.

The Yankees were also suitors at one point, but The Post’s Joel Sherman reported they weren’t willing to include high-end prospects such as Clint Frazier or Justus Sheffield in a deal, essentially removing them from the bidding.
