Jerry Manuel (pictured) just got tossed for the second time as interim manager and the third time this season. Manuel was ejected by second base umpire Dan Iassogna for disputing a call reversal that gave the Phillies’ Ryan Howard a home run. The ejection came with two out in the bottom of the seventh and followed a lengthy meeting of the umpiring crew on the field near first base.
Manuel argued that a fan in right field had reached over to grab Howard’s shot before it cleared the fence. The Mets still lead the Phillies 10-5.
