TAMPA — Mariano Rivera was back home in New York on Wednesday for personal reasons, and will return to camp on Saturday.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman confirmed the flight home was not injury related and Rivera would pitch on Saturday against the Braves.
It will be the 43-year-old closer’s first game action since he tore his ACL last May.
