Brett Marshall, the Yankees sixth-round pick in the June draft, threw a scoreless inning for the Gulf Coast League Yankees in his professional debut yesterday.

Marshall struck out one and walked one without allowing a hit against the GCL Tigers. The 18-year-old signed recently with the Yankees, deciding to turn pro instead of following through on his commitment to Rice University.
