The start to Game 3 of the NLDS between the Dodgers and Mets was delayed about five minutes because of malfunctioning phone line between the visitor’s dugout and replay booth.
Just as Matt Harvey was about to throw his first pitch, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly sprung from the dugout and approached plate umpire Greg Gibson, who walked to the mound and explained the situation to the pitcher.
The technical issue was resolved within minutes, and first pitch was thrown at 8:42 p.m. instead of 8:37 as planned.
