Look for Raul Casanova to remain the Mets’ backup catcher for the foreseeable future. Willie Randolph said tonight that Ramon Castro, who has been out since late in spring training with a strained hamstring, suffered a setback recently while trying to test the hamstring with some running.

On the other hand, left fielder Moises Alou continues to make progress from his hernia surgery in early March and is now expected to DH in a minor-league game or two in Florida this weekend.

Alou still appears to be on track to rejoin the team later this month or in early May.
