After a dominant stretch with Double-A Binghamton, Jenrry Mejia, the Mets’ top prospect, has been promoted to Triple-A Buffalo, and will start for the Bisons Monday night against the Syracuse Chiefs.
The 20-year-old fireballing right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA in six starts for Binghamton, and has thrown seven shutout innings in each of his last two starts. He spent the first part of the season in the Mets’ bullpen, going 0-2 with a 3.25 ERA in 30 appearances.
