The Mets have signed left-handed pitcher Garrett Olson and catcher Lucas May to minor league contracts and claimed right-hander Jeremy Hefner off waivers from Pittsburgh.

The Mets made the moves on Monday.

Olson began last season with the Pirates. He went 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA in four games. The 28-year-old also has pitched for Baltimore and Seattle and is 14-22 lifetime.

May, 27, was in Triple-A for Kansas City and Arizona. He hit a combined .238 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs. Olson and May were invited to spring training.

Hefner, 25, was 9-7 with a 4.98 ERA in Triple-A for San Diego. The Pirates claimed him from the Padres on Nov. 18. He was drafted by the Mets in 2004 and 2005.
