The thud was heard throughout the entire ballpark and immediately drew a loud gasp from the Citi Field crowd.

Albert Almora Jr. went face-first into the right-center field fence on Austin Hays’ drive in the eighth inning of the Mets-Orioles game, initially catching the ball, but having it dislodged upon contact with the wall.

The 27-year-old stayed down for a few minutes, before eventually getting to his feet with help from the training staff and walking slowly to the dugout.

He received an ovation from the Citi Field crowd.
