For the Mets, it’s another winter without having to worry about arbitration hearings.
The team on Tuesday avoided arbitration with Mike Pelfrey, Andres Torres, Ramon Ramirez and Manny Acosta by agreeing to terms with each player. Oliver Perez in 2008 was the last Mets player to actually go to arbitration.
Pelfrey will receive $5.68 million, with Torres and Ramirez – whom the Mets acquired from the Giants last month for Angel Pagan – to receive $2.7 million and $2.67 million, respectively. Acosta will get $875,000.
Pelfrey, who made $3.93 million last year, was the biggest financial gainer of the bunch. He finished 7-13 with a 4.74 ERA.
