Alex Claudio, competing for a spot in the Mets bullpen, worked a scoreless eighth with one strikeout in his team’s 5-3 exhibition loss to the Astros in 10 innings at Clover Park. The lefty Claudio hasn’t allowed a run in four appearances this spring.

Brandon Nimmo went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts from the leadoff spot and saw his Grapefruit League batting average drop to .182.

Starling Marte stole second base in the first inning. It was his second straight game with a stolen base.
