DENVER — The Mets will have a new face in the bullpen the next time they take the field.

After exhausting the bullpen in a doubleheader loss to the Rockies on Tuesday, the Mets called up Jeurys Familia from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday to provide a fresh arm.

Greg Burke was optioned to Las Vegas to make room for Familia.

With it possible Wednesday’s game at Coors Field will be snowed out, Familia will provide help for a potential doubleheader on Thursday. The right-hander Familia, who was a September call up last season, was among the final cuts in spring training this year.

The 23-year-old Familia did not allow a run in four appearances for Las Vegas.
