The Mets today announced that they have recalled catcher Josh Thole from Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League.

He is expected to join the team in Colorado for tomorrow’s game and will wear uniform No. 30.

Thole, who spent the entire 2009 season with the B-Mets, was third in the Eastern League with a .328 batting average.

In 103 games, the 22-year-old backstop was tied for the team lead with 29 doubles, was third on the team with 46 RBIs and 48 runs scored. The lefthanded hitter batted .328 (88-against left-handed pitchers, and .328 against right-handed pitchers.

The 6-1, 205-pound catcher was named to the 2009 Eastern League All-Star team but was unable to compete after missing time from June 30- July 18 due to a dislocated left thumb.
