The Mets announced Wednesday they claimed right-handed reliever Austin Warren off waivers from the Giants.
The 28-year-old Warren missed most of last season with San Francisco while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He made his season debut in the majors on Aug. 28 and appeared in six games, tossing 10 ²/₃ innings.
He was designated for assignment by the Giants on Jan. 8 to open a spot for backup catcher Sam Huff.
