The Mets’ refurbishment of their 40-man roster figures to include several options for a beleaguered bullpen.

To that end, the club on Tuesday claimed right-handed reliever Penn Murfee off waivers from the Mariners.

Murfee, 29, underwent Tommy John surgery in July, meaning he likely won’t be a consideration for the Mets until late next season.

Murfee appeared in 16 games for the Mariners this season and pitched to a 1.29 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 14 innings.

Murfee was also effective for the Mariners in 2022, when he appeared in 64 games and pitched to a 2.99 ERA.
