Ike Davis, one of the Mets’ hottest hitters lately, was scratched from tonight’s Subway Series game due to what the Mets called “possible food poisoning.”
With Davis out, Daniel Murphy shifted from second base to first base. Rookie Jordany Valdespin will play second.
Davis has been surging in his last 12 games, hitting .351 (13-for-37) with three homers and 15 RBIs. He also blasted a three-run first-inning homer against Andy Pettitte last night. It’s unknown if Davis is available off the bench in any capacity tonight.
