After starting and throwing five innings last night, the Mets designated RHP and Olympian Brandon Knight for assignment today. Knight allowed four runs on seven hits against the Cardinals last night. He’ll likely clear waivers, and be assigned back to Triple-A New Orleans. In his place, the Mets called up Willie Collazo. The left-hander was 4-6 with a 4.08 ERA in 31 appearances with New Orleans.
