MIAMI — Just another torturous night at the office for the Mets.

Instead of prolonging the drama to the 15th inning, as they had a night earlier, the Mets made it easy on everybody Tuesday by handing the game to the Marlins in nine.

Call it, “Hurl gone wild, South Beach edition.” Brandon Lyon unleashed a wild pitch in the ninth that allowed Juan Pierre to race home from third with the winning run in the Mets’ 2-1 loss at Marlins Park.

The loss was the sixth straight for the Mets.

Jeremy Hefner took a shutout bid into the ninth, but couldn’t finish the job. Chris Coghlan singled leading off the inning, took second on Anthony Recker’s passed ball and went to third on Pierre’s bunt that became a fielder’s choice when Recker was unsuccessful in his attempt to nail Coghlan.

Lyon entered and surrendered a game-tying single to Donovan Solano before Placido Polanco was intentionally walked. Lyon threw the wild pitch with Greg Dobbs at the plate.

Kevin Slowey frustrated the Mets, allowing one run on four hits over eight innings with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Recker’s sacrifice fly in the fifth accounted for the Mets’ only run. Daniel Murphy slashed a leadoff double and went to third on Ike Davis’ fly to center before Recker got the run home.
