Tim Teufel will remain in the Mets organization as a roving infield instructor and club ambassador, the team announced Friday.
The 58-year-old Teufel recently was replaced as the team’s third-base coach — a position he had held in 2012 — with the hiring of Glenn Sherlock, who also will serve as the catching instructor.
Teufel will join John Franco and Mookie Wilson, among others, as club ambassador. The rest of manager Terry Collins’ coaching staff from 2016 has remained in place.
