Jeff Francoeur was in disbelief that the Mets’ archrivals, the Phillies, had been given three extra games in Philadelphia against the Blue Jays because Major League Baseball moved their June 25-27 series from Toronto to accomodate the G20 Summit for world political and financial leaders.

“I didn’t think it was true,” Francoeur said. “They can’t do that. Having to go to Toronto, that hassle, now they come to you? If we have to go to Toronto next year, we’re not gonna go. We’ll tell them they’ve gotta come to us, make it even.”

Francoeur was kidding about next year’s prospects, but was clearly agitated about his displeasure regarding the fact the Phillies’ advantage.

Asked if it was unfair, the right fielder said, “Absolutely, it is.”

The Blue Jays will remain the home team, batting last, and the DH would be used as if in an AL park.
